The Gambian President has decreed for public sector three-day weekends starting from February 1st. He has added Friday to the regular weekend of Saturday and Sunday, making Friday a day of rest to devote more time to prayers, social activities and agriculture.
In addition, he also said that government employees will work from 8am to 6pm Mondays to Thursdays. But, this means that Government workers may have split weekends, and work an extra 10 hours a week, they work from 8am to 4pm at this time.
