The Gambian President has decreed for public sector three-day weekends starting from February 1st. He has added Friday to the regular weekend of Saturday and Sunday, making Friday a day of rest to devote more time to prayers, social activities and agriculture.
In addition, he also said that government employees will work from 8am to 6pm Mondays to Thursdays. But, this means that Government workers may have split weekends, and work an extra 10 hours a week, they work from 8am to 4pm at this time. Working until 6pm means eight hours extra, which could be converted into ten if they have to work on Saturdays too. [Read more…]
A new invention has appeared on the market for those wanting a digital remedy to losing weight: a digital fork. The wireless fork keeps track of your dining practices, including your eating speed, and then downloads data via USB or Bluetooth to your iPhone or PC. The idea of the utensil is to facilitate you consume more slowly. It informs you how long it took to eat your meal, the intervals and the quantity of “fork servings” taken per minute. If you are eating too fast, the fork will vibrate and will light up to let you know to slow down; also it claims to reduce digestive problems and acid reflux. [Read more…]
